Big Moves Moving & Clean-Outs started in 2018, when founder Josh McDonald was running jobs out of the basement of his South Philly home. What began as a simple side hustle between real estate deals has grown into one of the region’s most trusted names in moving, clean-outs, and delivery services.
From that humble basement to storage units, then a small shop on Broad Street, Big Moves has always been built on hustle and heart. Today, the team proudly operates out of a full-service warehouse in Mount Laurel, New Jersey, serving Philadelphia, South Jersey, and the surrounding region.
A Local Business Built on Trust
In the early years, Big Moves grew purely through word-of-mouth referrals and gig app bookings - long before a website or marketing strategy ever existed. Even without online visibility, the team successfully completed over 1,100 moves, ranging from quick pickups and furniture deliveries to large-scale projects like decommissioning a 30-unit Airbnb building in Center City.
Through every move, one thing stayed the same: a commitment to showing up, working hard, and treating every customer like a neighbor.
